Meghalaya Trip from Mumbai
Overview
Meghalaya — the 'Abode of Clouds' — is the wettest, greenest corner of India, and one of its most underrated travel destinations. This 7-day package from Mumbai flies you to Guwahati and covers all transfers, stays and a carefully paced route through the state's greatest hits: the double-decker living root bridge of Nongriat, the glass-clear Umngot river at Dawki, the tumbling waterfalls of Cherrapunji (Sohra), the spotless village of Mawlynnong, and the misty capital of Shillong.
Unlike the weekend forts and beaches closer to Mumbai, Meghalaya rewards a full week. The itinerary is deliberately relaxed — a mix of sightseeing drives and one moderate day-walk down to the living root bridge — making it ideal for families, couples and groups who want Northeast India without any hard trekking. Flights from Mumbai, all road transfers, hotels and the key entry fees are included, so the trip runs smoothly end to end.
The best season is October to April, when the rains (which can touch 11,000 mm at Cherrapunji) give way to clear skies, full waterfalls and bright green valleys. Mumbai departs on a direct flight to Guwahati; from there it's an easy 3.5-hour drive through the Brahmaputra valley up into the Khasi Hills.
Based in Meghalaya, this easy 7-day trek is best attempted during October, November, December, January, February, March, April — when the trail and surroundings are at their most rewarding.

FAQs
How do I book the Meghalaya Trip from Mumbai?
Book directly through our website or contact us via WhatsApp. Share your preferred departure date and number of travellers, and we'll confirm your seats and share the full trip document within 24 hours.
What is the best time to visit Meghalaya?
October to April is ideal. The heaviest rains have eased, waterfalls are still full and the valleys are brilliantly green. Avoid June–September, when Cherrapunji receives its extreme monsoon rainfall and road access to some sites can be affected.
How do we reach Meghalaya from Mumbai?
The package includes round-trip flights from Mumbai to Guwahati (Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport). From the airport, our private AC vehicle takes you to Shillong in about 3.5 hours. Travellers from Pune can join the Mumbai flight via the airport transfer or take their own flight and meet us at Guwahati.
Is the living root bridge trek difficult?
It is moderate, not a technical climb. It involves descending about 3,500 steps through rainforest to Nongriat village and climbing back up — comfortable walking shoes and reasonable fitness are enough. Anyone who can manage a couple of hours of stairs will enjoy it.
Is this trip suitable for families and older travellers?
Yes. All other days are gentle sightseeing drives. If stairs are a concern, the root bridge day can be swapped for a viewpoint at Tyrna village looking over the gorge, or an extra day in Cherrapunji.
What is included in the package price?
Round-trip Mumbai–Guwahati flights, 6 nights' accommodation, daily breakfast, a private AC vehicle with driver-guide for all transfers and sightseeing, and entry fees for all monuments, caves, parks and the Dawki boat ride.
What kind of accommodation is provided?
Clean, comfortable 3-star or equivalent hotels — 3 nights in Shillong, 2 nights in Cherrapunji and 1 night in Guwahati, all on twin-sharing (triple/family rooms on request).
Are meals included?
Daily breakfast is included. Lunch and dinner are on your own so you can sample local Khasi, Jaintia and Assamese cuisine at your own pace — we're happy to recommend restaurants at each stop.
