Kashmir — Srinagar, Gulmarg & Pahalgam from Mumbai
Overview
Kashmir is not just a destination; it's an emotion. From the moment you step onto a shikara on Dal Lake with the Pir Panjal range reflected in the water, you understand why it's called Paradise on Earth.
This 6-day trip covers the three crown jewels of Kashmir — Srinagar (Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens, old city), Gulmarg (the highest gondola ride in the world, meadows, and snow activities in winter), and Pahalgam (pine forests, river walks, and the base camp for the Amarnath Yatra).
We fly from Mumbai to Srinagar (the only practical way for a week-long trip). Stays include a traditional houseboat on Dal Lake, a mountain resort in Gulmarg, and a riverside cottage in Pahalgam.
Based in Jammu & Kashmir, this easy 6-day trek is best attempted during March, April, May, June, September, October, November, December — when the trail and surroundings are at their most rewarding.

FAQs
How do I reach Kashmir from Mumbai?
We fly from Mumbai to Srinagar (direct flight, ~2.5 hours). The trip price does not include airfare — we book the best available fares and share the options. Srinagar airport transfers are included.
Is Kashmir safe for tourists?
Yes — Kashmir has been completely peaceful for tourism since 2020. The region is now one of India's most visited tourist destinations. The local tourism board and our experienced Kashmiri guides ensure all safety protocols are followed.
What is the best time to visit Kashmir?
March-June for gardens and meadows in bloom. July-September for lush green valleys and fruit season (apples, apricots). December-February for snow activities in Gulmarg (skiing, snowboarding). Each season offers a different experience.
Is the Gulmarg Gondola worth it?
Absolutely — it's the highest cable car in the world (Phase 2 reaches 3,980m). The views of the Himalayas from the top are breathtaking. In winter, the upper station offers skiing on powdery slopes. Phase 1 (to Kongdoori) is included; Phase 2 (to Apharwat Peak) is extra.
What should I eat in Kashmir?
Don't miss the Wazwan (traditional Kashmiri multi-course meal) — rogan josh, yakhni (yogurt-mutton curry), tabak maaz (fried ribs), and goshtaba (meatballs in yogurt gravy). For bread, try the Kashmiri naan and sheermal. End with noon chai (pink salty tea) and phirni.
