Visitors stay in village homestays and gather at dawn or dusk to watch newly hatched turtles make their short, closely supervised crawl into the sea, alongside exhibits on the village's community-led conservation work. This is as much a cultural homestay experience as it is a wildlife one.
Every year between February and April, Olive Ridley turtles come ashore to nest on the quiet stretch of beach, and the village's turtle-protection volunteers guard the nests until the hatchlings emerge. Guests stay with local families in simple homestays, share home-cooked Konkani meals, and walk to the beach at dawn or dusk to watch the guided release of hatchlings into the Arabian Sea.
