Overview
# Valley of Flowers Trek from Mumbai
The **Valley of Flowers National Park** — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — is a surreal Himalayan valley that bursts into a carpet of 500+ species of alpine flowers during the monsoon. Nestled in the Zanskar range of Uttarakhand at 3,600 m, this trek is a pilgrimage for nature lovers, photographers, and botanists. The 19 km trek through the valley passes through gushing streams, cascading waterfalls, and meadows painted in every colour imaginable — from blue poppies and pink primulas to yellow potentillas and purple campanulas.
Based in Uttarakhand, this moderate 6-day trek is best attempted during July, August, September — when the trail and surroundings are at their most rewarding.

Mid-Jul to mid-Aug is the peak bloom period. Sep has fewer flowers but clearer skies and fewer crowds.

You should be able to walk 14 km with a 5–10 kg backpack uphill. Regular cardio, stair climbing, and leg workouts for 4–6 weeks before the trek are recommended.
Is altitude sickness a concern?
Ghagaria (3,000 m) and Hemkund Sahib (4,329 m) are at significant altitudes. We include acclimatization time and carry oxygen cylinders. Participants with a history of altitude sickness should consult a doctor first.
